Took the Old Town Trolley most of the day on Wednesday. Got MUCHO pix, see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gvincent1/sets/72157605694210399/ Was gonna go to the New England Aquarium on Thursday but here a little matter of a parade for the World Champion Boston Celtics that had downtown closed down! So, I went to the parade and got videos instead, see: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=gvincent99&search_type=&aq=f Gonna take the Duck Tour tonight, more pix to come. The weather has been FANTASTIC, mid 70's everyday and no rain, so far.
Boston is a cool city. The people are very nice and the cost of living up here is outta $ight! There is way too much to do for just 5 days. Museums galore, "only" 60 colleges & universities in the metro area: Boston College, MIT, Cambridge, Vassar to name a very few. Average age here is 30 and the population is 70% college students. You DON'T drive in Boston. The streets are a nightmare. The Big Dig helped some but there is no rhyme or reason to the street layout. Street names can change 2-3 times within 2-3 miles. Practically everyone in town uses the "T" or taxis to ge around.
Pubs and sports bars abound. If your not into sports here, your in the wrong place. Bostonians are fanatical about "their" teams, whether it is football, baseball, basketball, or hockey. You want food? This is the place to be. Ethnicity abounds. You'll hear a dozen languages just walking down the street.
Much more to come...
