Here it is Independence Day, July 4th. Jan's working, I'm working, Aaron's in Jordan. Just another day in the neighborhood. The neighbors on both sides of us are on vacation: one in Russia and one in Arizona. Thinking about going to the Baron's game tonight have a hot dog and see the fireworks.
Aaron called Wednesday from Jordan. He said he was on guard duty from midnight to 0430 the other day and the natives started having daily prayers at 0400. They have prayers six times a day. He said he was a little surprised and it took some getting used to. His tent is air conditioned and is nice and cool at night and early morning, but during the heat of the day, even the a/c can't cope with the heat there. They've been told to drink water constantly to stay hydrated. He's definitely "seeing the world" now compliments of the Corps. I wonder if they'll do anything special today over there to celebrate the 4th? Maybe an inter-squad ballgame with some beer, ribs, or hot dogs, hope so. We sure do miss him.
