We got an email today from the middle of the Jordanian desert from Aaron. He's positioned for the exercise they went over there for and Internet access is required. The exercise won't start until tomorrow so they were allowed access to the Internet to check email, etc. It's been 110-120 on the coast in Aqaba, Jordan but it's "only" 95 where he is. He spent the weekend touring some historical ruins in the area and swimming in the Gulf of Aqaba. "This past weekend, we had liberty and I went to Wadi Rum, which is East of Aqaba. It is where T.E. Lawrence staged the Arab attack on the Ottoman Turks when they were occupying Aqaba back in the 1910s. There are a lot of historical locations out there and some beautiful landscape." How cool is that?
He says he has a ton-o-pix, misses the US, and will be glad to get back to "normal" living (LOL). We can't wait to see the pix and videos.
Pat and the gang are coming over this Saturday to meet & eat. Nadine has accepted the position at UAB beginning in the fall. Her and Jan are looking for a townhouse for her to rent now.
