Aaron
Aaron returned from Jordan about three weeks ago and went straight back to his home base at Camp Pendleton just north of San Diego, CA. He attended a supply school last week at the Naval base in San Diego to acquaint him with the "Navy's way" of doing things onboard a supply ship. As part of the school, he got to tour the USS Boxer which he has been told will be the ship he will deploy on later this year to Afghanistan. The Boxer looks like an aircraft carrier and is 843 feet long Boxer website. He posted some pix of the tour of the ship on Flickr and is VERY excited about his upcoming deployment. He has received glowing reviews and recommendations from his superiors and is up for promotion to Corporal (E-4) on October 1 which will make him an NCO before the deployment (meaning no more "grunt work", he'll be the one ordering the younger troops to do the work). He'll get to come home on leave for 2-3 weeks prior to the deployment.

It may or may not be Afghanistan...we won't know until we're already underway in the Pacific.
