Aaron finally went to Las Vegas with some of his friends this weekend. They stayed in another friends 11th floor condo. His biggest complaint was the weekend wasn't long enough (duh, is it ever?). He called last night to fill us in on Vegas. Sounds like he had a great time, glad he got to go and it was GREAT to hear from him.
He's in a supply school at the Naval base in San Diego this week to learn how to merge the Marine's way of doing things with the Navy's way in anticipation of his upcoming float/deployment to the Mideast. He had a flat tire the other day and is gonna have to take some time to get it fixed before anymore trips. He said he has decided to store his car & personal belongings in a self-storage facility off base when he goes overseas for his deployment. Told him to be sure and disconnect the battery in the car. Ideally, he needs to put the car on jack stands to keep the tires in good shape and prevent them from flat-spotting for that length of time in storage. He's got to get the heater core (leaking) replaced at some point also. I wouldn't worry about that until he returns from his trip.
Jan has a friend from Florida staying with us this week while the friend takes care of some school business. She has a grown son, also, in school in Denver. We went to Pat's on Sunday for dinner and picked up Dad on the way down. Everyone pigged out on fresh veggies and homemade ice cream with blueberry cobbler (YUM!). We also put some flowers on Jan's parents' and Mom's graves.
