Election

Construction has FINALLY begun on the widening of I-65 from Valleydale to the tank farm exit. They're going to eight lanes. Construction barrels, survey crews, tractors, bucket trucks, erosion barriers, flashing signs: they're all there doing their thing. It'll probably take 2 years to complete because of the bridge widening that has to be done also. It's about time. They're also adding center turn lanes on 119 from I-65 to Caldwell Mill Rd. at about six intersections. That's a separate on-going project with an ETA of December.

Voter registration has broken all the records in Alabama. Next Tuesday will be a madhouse with long lines. Everyone is saying the turnout, nationwide, will break records. The media is having a field day with accusations of voter fraud and voting "irregularities". A lot of dogs, cats, and dead people will be casting ballots I'm sure and not just here in AL but all over the US.

Aaron's getting used to life on board ship. He says the ship rolling on the waves takes getting used to and makes working at a computer "different". He says the Navy has plenty of pretty women to keep him "occupied". He's having the time of his life. He says Navy food is good and plentiful, just has long lines at chow time with 3,000 Marines and sailors on board.
